Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Thibodaux woman in connection with a disturbance that occurred at a Terrebonne Parish school. Dione H. Domangue, 52, was arrested on multiple charges stemming from the investigation.

On Friday, November 14th, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer (SRO) Division was alerted to a physical confrontation inside a Terrebonne Parish school involving a custodian, a teacher’s aide, and her husband. When Authorities arrived, they identified the teacher’s aide as Dione H. Domangue, 52, as well as the custodian, whose identity is not being released at this time.

Authorities learned that the day prior, Domangue and the custodian were involved in a verbal disagreement in her classroom regarding Domangue removing toiletries from a school bathroom for classroom use. Investigators determined that when Domangue arrived at school the following morning, she was accompanied by her husband, Joshua Paul Domangue, 47, of Thibodaux, who entered the school to confront the custodian. Authorities confirmed the custodian sustained a minor facial injury during the disturbance, and his eyeglasses were broken in the encounter. Detectives were later called to assume control of the investigation.

During their review of school surveillance footage, Detectives observed that Joshua Domangue was able to enter the building after Dione Domangue scanned her Terrebonne Parish credentials, granting him access. The footage also clearly confirmed that a physical confrontation occurred inside the school. Detectives were able to obtain substantial evidence and corroborate witness accounts through the recorded footage.

Over the days that followed, Detectives continued gathering information. On Friday, November 21st, Dione Domangue was brought in for questioning but declined to cooperate. She was later arrested on charges of Principle to Battery of a School Teacher, Principle to Simple Criminal Damage to Property, and Principle to Unlawful Disruption of the Operation of a School. She was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex and later released after posting a $25,000 bond set by local judges.

Authorities have attempted to locate Joshua Paul Domangue, who remains wanted in connection with the incident, but those efforts have been unsuccessful. Detectives have secured arrest warrants for Joshua Domangue on the charges of Battery of a School Teacher, Simple Criminal Damage to Property, and Unlawful Disruption of the Operation of a School.

Sheriff Soignet said, “Our Detectives have worked diligently to gather the evidence necessary to understand exactly how this incident unfolded. The safety of our school staff and students remains one of this agency’s highest priorities, and incidents of violence inside our educational institutions will always be met with a swift and thorough investigative response.”

Sheriff Tim Soignet encourages anyone who knows the whereabouts of the individual, or information about the investigation, to please contact the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office at (985)876-2500 or a tip can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by phone at 1-800-743-7433, online at CrimeStoppersBR.org, or through the Bayou Tips app on mobile devices.
