ABOUT US

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is a dedicated group of nearly 300 employees, led by Sheriff Timothy Soignet, who are committed to the service and protection of the people of Terrebonne Parish.

​

Sheriff Soignet's Administration has included improvements in training and patrol strategies, and expansions that are helping the agency better serve the public at large.

​

Projects in progress under Sheriff Soignet's watch have included a special operations facility which house Narcotics, K-9 and SWAT Administration.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office is to prevent crime and maintain order while affording dignity and respect to all individuals; to protect lives and property while safeguarding constitutional guarantees, committed to the delivery of police and detention services in the most efficient, fairest responsive and ethical manner possible to impartially enforce all laws ordinances, while enhancing the quality of life for all citizens through new and innovative approaches to problem solving and crime prevention, with a sensitivity to the priorities and needs of the people; and to promote professionalism and pride among the employees of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office.

CORRECTIONS DIVISION

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office Corrections Division personnel is responsible for every facet of the day to day operations of the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex. Also maintaining the operation of the Terrebonne Parish Transitional Work Program.

CIVIL DIVISION

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office Civil Department duties consist of property tax collection, issuance of subpoenas and other notices and the seizure and sale of seized items.

TRAINING DIVISION

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office Training Division is responsible for the continuing education of current employees. They ensure employees meet current and modern policing standards of training. Those assigned to the Training Division also are responsible for the operation of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office Regional Training Academy.
