TERREBONNE PARISH SHERIFF'S OFFICE
SHERIFF TIMOTHY SOIGNET
CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS
The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations is comprised of the Detective Bureau, Special Victims Unit and Crime Lab.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau is responsible for furthering investigations of incidents which could not be resolved by the Uniform Patrol Deputies. They are also subject to 24 hour call when a crime occurs which requires their response at the origin.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) consists of a team of Detectives who specialize in the investigation of incidents involving Domestic Violence, Juveniles and any Sex Crimes. These detectives work hand in hand with the Louisiana Department of Child and Family Services to aid in the long term protection of these victims.

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office Crime Lab is responsible for the evidence management and cataloging of articles collected by the Uniform Patrol, Narcotics Agents and the Detective Bureau. Once these articles are collected, if needed, the Crime Lab submits necessary articles to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for further processing. These Deputies are also tasked with assisting Uniform Patrol and Detectives in the evidentiary collection at a crime scene.
