Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Thibodaux man, in connection with a recent residential burglary complaint reported to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrested Lynn Paul Guidry Jr, 35, of Thibodaux, in connection with the incident.
On August 17th, shortly before 3am, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) Patrol Division was called to a home, after the resident returned and noticed signs of a burglary. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the homeowner, who provided information of items stolen from the home. The homeowner identified a potential suspect as Lynn Paul Guidry Jr, and provided information that this was not the only time he has broken into the home. Through investigation, Deputies were able to link an address in Thibodaux, to the potential suspect Lynn Paul Guidry Jr.
Deputies learned vital information from the victim and confirmed that Guidry was arrested on prior charges connected to a burglary of the same address. As a result of that arrest, Guidry violated conditions of the bond which clearly prohibited any contact with the victim or residence. Deputies secured an arrest warrant for Lynn Paul Guidry Jr in connection with the incident, for charges of Simple Burglary, Violation of a Protective Order, and Stalking, with a $200,000.00 bond by local judges.
Later, with the assistance of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lynn Paul Guidry Jr was taken into custody and was transported to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Center. Guidry remains in custody in Lafourche Parish, as we await his transfer to face charges in Terrebonne Parish.
Sheriff Tim Soignet is pleased with the outstanding work completed by the TPSO Patrol Division in this investigation. Sheriff Tim Soignet would also like to personally thank the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in this incident. Sheriff Soignet said, “I am extremely proud of the men and women of our agency who continuously go above and beyond to bring these offenders to justice. I am also incredibly grateful for the working relationship with our neighboring agencies and public safety partners. These are partnerships having proven invaluable, and we will continue to do what is necessary to rid our communities of criminal behavior.”
