Drug Arrest Results from Ongoing Investigation in Houma

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Houma brother and sister, in connection with an ongoing narcotics-based investigation.  Raihean Richaud Scott, 44, and Areka Jabrille Hunt, 35, were arrested for multiple narcotics offenses related to the investigation.

During the beginning months of 2026, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division began receiving information related to illegal drug activity and distribution taking place at a residence on Williams Street in Dularge, La.  The information provided also identified Raihean Scott as a perpetrator, along with additional investigative information.  As Agents began a preliminary investigation, they were able to link Scott to a Home on Williams Street, and began compiling evidence related to illegal drug activity, which culminated in a search warrant being obtained for the home.  Agents were also able to investigatively identify and connect Areka Hunt to the home and case.

On Wednesday, August 5th, Agents with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the TPSO SWAT Team arrived at a home in the 100 block of Wiliams Street, equipped with the search warrant.  SWAT members called the residents of the home outside, where Raihean Richaud Scott exited, and was taken into custody.  A short time later, an adult female, later identified as Areka Hunt, exited the residence with two minor children.  Areka was taken into custody and found to be in possession of Marijuana and Crack Cocaine, located on her person. Once outside, the two minor children were secured for safety.

Agents completed a search the home and ultimately located an additional amount of illegal drugs within a bedroom shared by Hunt and the minor children.  A search of Scott’s bedroom led to the discovery of close to 30 grams of Crack Cocaine, more than 179 grams of Cocaine, over 60 grams of Heroin, nearly 63 grams of Fentanyl, almost 125 grams of MDMA, numerous capsules containing an unknow illegal narcotic, prescription medication, multiple items of drug distribution related paraphernalia, and an excess of $1000.00 in cash. 

Agents later arrested Raihean Richaud Scott on charges of Possession with the intent to distribute CDS I (2 counts), Possession with the intent to distribute CDS II (4 counts), Possession of drug paraphernalia, Transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, Creation of a Clandestine Lab for Unlawful Manufacturing of CDS (2 counts), and Possession of a CDS in the presence of a person under 17 (2 counts).  Scott remains in custody at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, and is being held on a No Bond by local judges.

Agents also arrested Areka Jabrille Hunt on charges of Possession of a CDS in the presence of a person under 17 (2 counts), Possession of CDS II, and Possession of Marijuana.  Hunt remains in custody at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, and is being held on a No Bond by local judges.

The minor children were released to the care of concerned family members.
