Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced that, through the assistance of the LSU FACES Laboratory, skeletal remains previously discovered on Westwood Drive in Terrebonne Parish have been preliminarily identified, pending verification through familial DNA testing.

The remains were originally recovered in May 2025, in the 100 block of Westwood Drive in Houma, as part of an ongoing investigation by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. Detectives worked closely with the Louisiana State University FACES Laboratory, a specialized forensic anthropology and identification unit, to aid in the analysis and comparison of forensic data. As a result, the skeletal remains have been identified as Quang T. Le, Asian male, 72 years of age.

Sheriff Soignet confirmed that while a preliminary identification has been established, final confirmation will depend on the results of pending familial DNA testing. Authorities are attempting to locate any known relatives of Quang T. Le, which is the next step in this challenging investigation.

“We are extremely grateful for the expertise and support provided by the LSU FACES Lab,” said Sheriff Soignet. “Their assistance continues to play a vital role in helping us bring closure to cases involving unidentified remains. Our goal remains to give this individual a name and return them to their loved ones.”

As part of the continuing investigation, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating or identifying potential family members associated with this individual. Anyone with information regarding missing persons or possible family connections is encouraged to contact the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division at (985) 876-2500 or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433.

Further information will be released as the investigation progresses, and DNA verification results are received.
