Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of Jaden Desean Falgoust, 20, of Gray, in connection with multiple ongoing investigations being conducted by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) Detectives.
In August, SVU Detectives were made aware of allegations of sexual abuse involving a 16-year-old female, reported by a concerned parent. During the course of the investigation, Detectives determined that the juvenile had been in the company of Falgoust and admitted to engaging in sexual intercourse with him on more than one occasion.
Falgoust was located and interviewed by Detectives, during which he confirmed both his knowledge of the victim’s age and his involvement in repeated sexual activity. Detectives also discovered the identity of a second 17-year-old female, who is currently pregnant by Falgoust. As a result, Falgoust was initially arrested and charged with one count of Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $2,500 bond set by local judges.
Further investigation revealed that prior to and during the victim’s pregnancy, Falgoust had also engaged in sexually explicit communications, including photos and videos, with the victim, who was 15-16 years of age during their first sexual encounter. Additional allegations surfaced involving other underage victims. Detectives subsequently arrested Falgoust on further charges, including Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor, Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile, and Pornography Involving Juveniles. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on an additional $25,000 bond and later released after posting bond.
Sheriff Tim Soignet emphasized that the investigation remains active, and additional victims are being urged to come forward to report any abuse to SVU Detectives at (985)876-2500.
“My hope is that as a result of this arrest, victims will be brave enough to come forward to report their abuse by this offender,”. Sheriff Soignet said, “As always, we ask for patience and privacy for the victims and their families. Our Detectives are working diligently to bring resolution to this unfortunate investigation and to ensure that this offender is brought to justice.”
