Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of 24-year-old Taylor Renee Jernigan, of Houma, following an investigation into a reported Home Invasion and the nonconsensual sharing of explicit images.

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, shortly after 6:30 pm, Deputies with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint at a local apartment complex located in Houma, where contact was made with the victim.  During the investigation, Deputies learned that Jernigan allegedly entered the residence of a former boyfriend without authorization using a copied key after no longer residing at the apartment.

Authorities further determined that following the incident, Jernigan allegedly shared explicit images involving the victim, through social media applications without his consent.  Deputies were able to make contact with Jernigan, who was brought in for questioning.  During the interview, Jernigan admitted to sending the images to another individual following a dispute.  During the interview, Deputies completed a search of Jernigan’s cellular device, where digital evidence of the crime was located.  Deputies seized the cellular device from Jernigan, which was secured as evidence in this investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Taylor Renee Jernigan was arrested and booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on charges of Home Invasion, and Nonconsensual Disclosure of Private Images.  Jernigan remains jailed on the charges and is currently awaiting a bond to be set by local judges.

Sheriff Tim Soignet said, “Domestic-related incidents and crimes involving the misuse of private images are serious matters that can quickly escalate into dangerous situations.  We want the public to understand that unauthorized entry into a residence and the unlawful sharing of intimate images will not be tolerated in Terrebonne Parish.  I commend our Deputies for conducting a thorough investigation.”

ARRESTED PERSONS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
