Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet is pleased to announce that the TPSO Narcotics Division recently concluded an investigation that originated from an anonymous tip submitted by a concerned citizen, through the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Tip Line.  The investigative information provided by the caller prompted Narcotics Agents to initiate an investigation, which resulted in the arrest of a pair of Houma men on multiple drug related charges.  Kentrell Gaither Jr, 26, and Dwayne J. Allridge, 47, were arrested in connection with the investigation.

In response to the anonymous tip, Agents conducted proactive patrols of a known area linked to Gaither and ultimately located him sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle, parked on Crozier Drive.  As Agents attempted to approach Gaither, he fled the vehicle and led Agents on a brief chase.  At the same time, the unknown driver fled the scene in the vehicle, at a high rate of speed.  Agents attempted to locate the vehicle and driver but were unsuccessful.

A short time later, Agents were able to take Kentrell Gaither Jr into custody with the use of a Taser 10 control device.  A search of the area revealed a black bag containing distribution amounts of MDMA, Amphetamines, Marijuana, and cash.  Agents contacted a resident at the home linked to Gaither and discovered minor children in the home, as well as indicators of illegal narcotics activity inside.  Agents secured the home, and a search warrant through the 32nd Judicial District Court was obtained.  At the completion of the search, Agents located distribution amounts of Heroin, drug paraphernalia linked to the distribution of illegal narcotics, and Marijuana.

Kentrell Gaither Jr was arrested and transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on charges of Possession with the intent to distribute CDS II (Amphetamines), Possession with the intent to distribute CDS I (Heroin), Possession with the intent to distribute Marijuana, Possession with the intent to distribute MDMA, Transactions involving Drug proceeds, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Obstruction of Justice, and Resisting an officer.  Gaither remains jailed on a $175,000.00 bond by local judges.

While at the scene, Agents began to receive additional information from concerned citizens in the neighborhood, related to the identity of the driver which fled the scene.  Agents were provided with the driver’s identity and later located him in the driveway of a home in the 100 block of Porche Lane.  Agents confirmed his involvement and identified the driver as Dwayne J. Allridge, 49, who was immediately taken into custody.

Agents arrested Dwayne J. Allridge on charges of Obstructing a public passage, Possession with the intent to distribute CDS II (Amphetamines), Possession with the intent to distribute Marijuana, Possession with the intent to distribute MDMA, Transactions involving Drug Proceeds, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Obstruction of Justice, Resisting an officer, and Flight from an officer.  Allridge remains jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on a $175,000.00 bond by local judges.

“This case is a direct result of concerned citizens taking the time to report suspicious activity through our Narcotics Tip Line,” said Sheriff Tim Soignet. “Anonymous tips from the public continue to be one of the most valuable tools available to law enforcement. When residents see something and say something, it helps us identify criminal activity, remove dangerous narcotics from our neighborhoods, and improve the safety and quality of life for everyone in Terrebonne Parish.”

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to continue reporting suspected narcotics activity and other criminal behavior. Information provided by community members often serves as the starting point for successful investigations and enforcement actions.
