TPSO Arrests Belle Rose Woman Following SVU Investigation

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Belle Rose woman in connection with an investigation conducted by the Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO). SVU Detectives arrested Emma Katherine Prejean, 29, on charges connected to the Terrebonne Parish investigation.
In February 2026, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) began an investigation into allegations of a juvenile having inappropriate communications with what was believed to be a 29-year-old female. SVU Detectives met with the victim and a family member, who confirmed details of the inappropriate communications, and provided Authorities with documentation of the communications.
During the interview, the victim positively identified the suspect as Emma Katherine Prejean, 29, of Belle Rose, La. The investigation also revealed a series of digital evidence, which clearly connecting Prejean to the allegations of child sexual abuse. SVU Detectives also learned of a recent meeting between the subjects, which led to physical interaction. SVU Detectives also confirmed the incident with an independent witness, who was familiar with the situation.
On February 24th, SVU Detectives made contact with Emma Katherine Prejean, who came in for questioning. During an interview with Prejean, she admitted to the inappropriate interactions with the minor victim. SVU Detectives then placed Prejean under arrest for the charges of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile, and Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor, in connection with the investigation. Emma Katherine Prejean was then booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where she remains jailed on a No Bond by local judges.
During the course of the investigation, SVU Detectives did determine that Emma Prejean was an employee/teacher within the St Charles Parish School System. SVU Detectives and officials from St Charles Parish have shared the necessary information in light of public safety for all.
Sheriff Tim Soignet confirmed this is an ongoing investigation, and additional charges are unknown. Sheriff Soignet said, “As always, we ask for patience and privacy for the victims and family. Our Detectives are working diligently to bring this case to resolution and hold this offender accountable for her actions.”
