Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Terrebonne Parish man in connection with an extensive Child Cyber Crime investigation. Detectives have re-arrested Angel Rodas, 25, of Gray, Louisiana, on numerous charges stemming from the ongoing investigation.
During the course of the initial investigation, Detectives with the Special Victims Unit (SVU) reviewed multiple cyber tips received through national reporting systems. Through detailed analysis, Detectives identified over 66 unique and individual files containing child sexual abuse material, depicting children ranging in age from newborn infants to approximately 12 years old. Forensic analysis revealed that all of the illicit material shared the same digital forensic marker, strongly indicating that a single computer system had been used to download and view the content.
As a result, Detectives obtained warrants and arrested Angel Rodas for 66 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles. Rodas was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex and later released after posting bond.
As part of the continuing investigation, SVU Detectives conducted a detailed forensic examination of evidence seized during a search of the Rodas residence. The review revealed an additional 392 videos and photographs depicting pre-pubescent children, ranging in age from 1 to 13 years old, engaged in sexually explicit acts. Detectives also discovered two videos involving sexual abuse of animals among the recovered evidence.
On November 9, 2025, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Detectives again took Angel Rodas into custody at his residence. He was booked into the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex on 392 counts of Pornography Involving Juveniles and 2 counts of Sexual Abuse of an Animal. Rodas remains jailed on a $775,000 bond set by local judges.
“The disturbing nature of these crimes highlights the importance of our ongoing commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community, our children.” said Sheriff Tim Soignet. “The tireless efforts of our SVU Detectives continue to ensure that those who exploit and harm children are held fully accountable. We remain steadfast in our mission to pursue justice and safeguard the innocent.”
ALL ARRESTED PERSONS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
