Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced that an incarcerated man has been arrested in connection with an ongoing sexual abuse investigation being conducted by Detectives of the Special Victim’s Unit of the Terrebonne Sheriff’s Office. Jerrid Lee Mills, 32, of Lake Charles was originally arrested on May 24, 2022, by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, on multiple sexually motivated charges.
Recently, SVU Detectives learned of an additional victim that came forward in connection with the investigation, who reported a series of abuse allegedly perpetrated by Mills. As of result of the information, Jerrid Lee Mills was arrested for an additional charge of First-Degree Rape. Mills remains jailed on a $1,100,000 total bond, by local judges.
Due to the nature of the crimes, no further details will be released related to the victims.
This is an ongoing and active investigation, and we will provide additional information as it becomes available.
Sheriff Soignet is extremely proud of the investigative efforts of the Special Victim’s Unit in solving and arresting a very dangerous offender. Sheriff Soignet said, “These types of crime investigation can be very time consuming for investigators, but it is important to do what is necessary to protect the victims. Our investigators are extremely diligent, and I know they will do what is necessary to protect the children of our community. This type of behavior will not be tolerated at any level in Terrebonne Parish.”
