Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of five women following a large disturbance that escalated into a violent incident involving a vehicle strike and gunfire in a Gray community.
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, shortly after 5:00 p.m., Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Al’s Trailer Park, located in the 2700 block of LA Highway 24, in reference to a large fight involving several females.
While deputies were en route, additional information was received indicating that a female involved in the disturbance intentionally struck several other female subjects with a vehicle as she fled the area. Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with multiple victims who required medical treatment.
During the initial investigation, bystanders reported that an unknown male subject fired a weapon following the disturbance. Deputies later located several spent shell casings at the scene and confirmed that a nearby residence and a vehicle sustained damage as a result of the gunfire. No injuries were reported from the shooting.
Further investigation revealed that two female subjects were intentionally struck by the vehicle, one of whom was confirmed to be 7 months pregnant. Deputies secured the area as a crime scene and requested assistance from TPSO Detectives.
Through continued investigation and the collection of digital evidence, Detectives identified the driver of the vehicle as Tysheria Naquette Murphy, 22, of Houma. Murphy was later located at her residence and taken into custody on charges of Disturbing the Peace by Fighting, and Two counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder. She remains incarcerated at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex with bond set at $301,000 by local judges.
Detectives also summonsed four additional female suspects on misdemeanor charges related to the disturbance, who were identified as Samia K. Harris, 25, of Gray, Mya Williams, 18, of Houma, Antoinette Rainey, 37, of Gray, and Nevaeh M. Tolbert, 18, of Houma.
The injured victims were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital and released shortly thereafter.
“As always, we ask for patience and privacy for the victims and families, as well as everyone involved in this investigation,” said Sheriff Tim Soignet. “Our Patrol and Investigative Divisions did an incredible job responding to and managing this troubling case. We are extremely grateful that no one was seriously injured as a result of the reckless actions of several suspects. I am confident our deputies and detectives will continue working diligently to ensure justice is served.”
Sheriff Soignet has confirmed that this remains an ongoing investigation and asks that anyone with information regarding the identity of the individual(s) responsible for the gunfire, or with additional information related to this investigation, contact the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 876-2500.
