Anonymous Tip Leads to Narcotics Investigation and Arrest

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet is pleased to announce that the TPSO Narcotics Division recently concluded a narcotics investigation that originated from an anonymous tip submitted the previous day, by a concerned citizen through the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Tip Line.  The investigative information provided by the caller prompted Narcotics Agents to initiate an investigation, which resulted in the arrest of a local man on multiple drug and firearm-related charges.  Justin Dijon Warren, 32, of Houma, was arrested in connection with the investigation.

In response to the anonymous tip, Agents conducted proactive patrols of a known area linked to Warren and ultimately located him occupying a vehicle.  As Agents approached Warren inside the vehicle, Authorities immediately observed what appeared to be illegal narcotics in plain view.  Warren immediately began making movements within the vehicle to intentionally conceal the contraband, and ignored the commands provided by Authorities.  The defiant behavior by Warren led to a physical confrontation between him and Agents, and a Taser 10 control device was utilized to place Warren into custody. 

A subsequent search of Warren’s vehicle led to the recovery of suspected illegal narcotics, drug-related paraphernalia, and currency believed to be associated with narcotics activity.  Agents also completed a court-authorized search warrant for Warren’s home where additional narcotics related items were recovered, in addition to a firearm.  Further review of the weapon confirmed that it appeared to be altered to fully automatic.  A search of Warren’s criminal history confirmed that he is currently a Convicted Felon in the State of Louisiana.

Agents arrested Warren on charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS II (Methamphetamines), Possession with the Intent to Distribute CDS I (Heroin), Transactions involving Drug Proceeds, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Obstruction of Justice, Resisting with Force or Violence, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of Narcotics, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Handling of Machine Guns.  Warren remains jailed on a $250,000.00 bond by local judges.

When residents see something and say something, it helps us identify criminal activity, remove dangerous narcotics from our neighborhoods, and improve the safety and quality of life for everyone in Terrebonne Parish.”
