TPSO seeks help to identify burglar

NEWS RELEASE

December 31, 2023

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet is asking for the public’s assistance with any information that could help detectives identify a male suspect that is wanted in connection with at least 3 business burglaries of the same local Terrebonne Parish based business.

Sheriff Tim Soignet advised that throughout the last several weeks, there has been at least 3 burglaries and one attempted burglary at a convenience store located in the 1800 block of Martin Luther King Blvd, with the last incident occurring last night. The male suspect is seen entering the establishment where he steals the same item during each incident.  The type of item is not being released at this time.  The male suspect then is seen leaving the establishment heading in the direction of an apartment complex in close proximity to the convenience store, where he alludes capture in an unknown direction or specific location.  It is believed that he is either a resident of the apartment complex or has ties to the apartment complex.

The male suspect can be seen with what appears to be a piece of clothing wrapped around his head in an attempt to conceal his identity.  Authorities do believe the suspect is a male due to his somewhat unique gait when he walks.  Authorities have included several still photographs to this release in an effort to facilitate the identification of the suspect.

Sheriff Tim Soignet encourages anyone with information as to the identity of individual, or information about the investigation, to please contact the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office at (985)876-2500 or a tip can be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by phone at 1-800-743-7433, online at CrimeStoppersBR.org, or through the Bayou Tips app on mobile devices. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.
