TPSO Investigates Discovery of Human Skeletal Remains

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet has confirmed that the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the discovery of what is believed to be human skeletal remains located in a wooded area near Alma Street and Richard Drive, in Houma.


Deputies responded to the area after reports of the discovery were received, where they confirmed the presence of the remains of a deceased individual. Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene and immediately initiated an investigation.


Sheriff Soignet stated, “Our Detectives have continued to work this investigation steadily since the discovery. This is certainly a unique and complex case, but I have confidence that our team will do what is necessary to uncover the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. As always, we ask for patience and understanding from our community as the investigation continues.”


This remains an active and ongoing investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.
