Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Gray man following a domestic violence investigation that occurred on Sunday morning, December 21, 2025.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m., Deputies with the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 100 block of T Beb Court in reference to a reported domestic disturbance. Deputies made contact with the victim, who reported that an altercation occurred between her and her children’s father, Ryan Chaisson, 32, during which she was physically assaulted in the presence of their minor children.
During the investigation, Deputies observed visible injuries on the victim, including lacerations, redness, and marks consistent with strangulation. Evidence and photographs were collected at the scene to document the injuries and damage inside the residence.
Investigators learned that Chaisson fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle without her permission. The vehicle was entered into law enforcement databases, and later that morning, Deputies located the vehicle and Chaisson at a residence in Gray. Chaisson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex.
Chaisson was booked on the following charges of Domestic Abuse Child Endangerment, 2 counts of False Imprisonment, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.
This investigation remains ongoing, and additional details will be released as they become available.
“Domestic violence is never acceptable, and when children are exposed to violence inside the home, the consequences can be long-lasting and traumatic,” said Sheriff Tim Soignet. “Our deputies take these incidents very seriously and will act swiftly to protect victims and hold offenders accountable. We encourage anyone experiencing domestic abuse to reach out for help. Your safety and your children’s safety matter.”
Anyone experiencing domestic violence or who has information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 876-2500.
ARRESTED PERSONS ARE PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
