Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet is asking for the public’s assistance as the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) marks the five-year anniversary of the tragic and senseless killing of Jardney Dior Bell, who was the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in Thibodaux, Louisiana, in 2020.

On October 31st, shortly before 11:45 pm, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division responded to Cortez Street after receiving reports of gunfire in the area. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a ditch. Inside, they located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Jardney Dior Bell, 30, of Thibodaux. Bell was transported to an out-of-area hospital, where he received medical treatment for his injuries.

Despite the tireless efforts of medical staff, Bell succumbed to his injuries on November 6, 2020. Since that time, TPSO Violent Crimes Detectives have remained committed to pursuing every lead and piece of information connected to this case.

Sheriff Soignet stated, “This investigation remains deeply important to our agency and to the Bell family. We believe someone in our community holds information that could help bring closure to this case and deliver justice for Jardney Bell. We are once again asking anyone who knows something, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward.”

The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office is renewing this case to generate fresh community awareness and encourage anyone with information to speak up. Even the smallest detail could be the missing piece investigators need.

Anyone with information related to the homicide of Jardney Dior Bell is urged to contact the TPSO Criminal Intelligence Division at (985) 876-2500. Information can also be submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by calling 1-800-743-7433, online at www.CrimeStoppersBR.org, or through the Bayou Tips mobile app. Tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward for valuable information that leads to an arrest.
