Houma man arrested in child pornography investigation in Terrebonne

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a Houma man in connection with a Child Cyber Crime investigation completed in Terrebonne Parish.  Landon J. Thibodeaux, 25, of Houma La., was arrested on 183 counts of Possession of Pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13, stemming from the investigation.


On December 12th, 2023, Landon Thibodeaux was arrested because of an investigation conducted by the Louisiana Bureau of Investigations, who received assistance from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana State Police CID Region 2, and Homeland Security Investigations, at an address in the 100 block of Leighton Loop.


There, a search warrant for the residence was completed and Thibodeaux was taken into custody without incident.  During the investigation, Authorities discovered additional evidence within the home, which led to additional counts of the violation.  Landon Thibodeaux was later transported to the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where he remains jailed on a $100,000 bond by local judges.


Sheriff Tim Soignet would like to personally commend Attorney General Jeff Landry and his Cyber Crime Unit for their work in the investigation, along with all the agencies that helped with the investigation.  Sheriff Soignet said, “I am honored to say that we have an amazing network of Public Safety Partners locally, and at the state level, who strive every day to make our communities safer.  The ability to work closely and efficiently with all the agencies involved has proven to be a huge asset in the daily fight against crime.  Our agency will continue to do what is necessary to make Terrebonne Parish a safer place for all.”
