Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced support for an upcoming Fishing Rodeo, which will be held at the Coco Marina, located at 106 Pier 56 Court in Chauvin, La., on October 15th and 16th. The Crime Fighters Annual Fishing Rodeo, hosted by the CRIME FIGHTERS organization, is a fundraising event dedicated to protecting the rights for victims of violent crimes and bringing the offenders responsible to justice.
CRIME FIGHTERS
Founded on January 4, 1993, CRIMEFIGHTERS is Louisiana’s largest pro-bono (free) organization dedicated to protecting the rights of victims and advocates for stronger laws against violent criminals and recidivists (repeat offenders of violent crime).
CRIMEFIGHTERS works to advance victim rights through public policy efforts on both local and state levels through the promotion of education and awareness about the rights and needs of crime victims. The organization works to improve services for victims to assist in their emotional, financial, and physical recovery.
CRIMEFIGHTERS accomplishes its mission through support from private and corporate foundations, our annual fishing rodeo, our yearly awards ceremony (gala) and individual contributions. CRIMEFIGHTERS will do everything within its legal power to make certain that violent criminals who hurt innocent and productive citizens are brought to face the consequences of their criminal activity. We encourage court watching on behalf of our victims.
Sheriff Tim Soignet urges everyone to come out and support this very worth-while event. Sheriff Tim Soignet said, “This is an organization that is doing great things not only in our community, but across the State of Louisiana. I have seen firsthand the impact that this organization has on the lives of those affected by violent crimes, and I will continue to support and endorse any resource that assists our community in its time of need.”
Let's show support for an organization that ONLY receives funding from these events and helps all victims of violent crime by supplying them with a counselor, attorney, and a hands-on approach to walk them through the legal process all completely free.
We make sure the victims have a voice and that their voice is heard.
